This book started
as an anti-psychology, anti-life coaching manual for those
who really want to be self-accepting. You will not see the
phrase, “authentic self” or any of the pop-psycho-babble
that makes its way onto television. It grew into a celebrity
packed reminder that all women, famous, or infamous share
goofy stories of insecurity and life in general. Using quotes
and anecdotal material from Hollywood's "pretty"
people, as well as from women around the United States, Screwed
serves as the book Oprah will never want to promote.
Much like Erma Bombeck's "The Grass Is Always Greener
over the Septic Tank", this book is written using both
humor and common sense with sole purpose to reach someone
who wants to feel like a unique person, one of the crowds,
better than the Jones's, and one of the guys. As a comedienne,
Cathe worked to provide respite from reality for millions,
but as a chronically depressed person, she had been through
years of study regarding the accepted issues that create reasons
for depressive states. We are plainly a generation of people
who feel increasingly inadequate. And there's really nothing
wrong with being messed up, if we're all doing it.
Self help books readily available push people away from themselves,
oftentimes creating larger mental obstacles. This is a guide
from someone who has been there, to anyone who wants to avoid
that trap.. This book is a complete tribute to the unusual
in all of us, and to the fact that there IS no such thing
as Normal
